The Middleton siblings, Kate and Pippa, share a strong bond. However, observers were surprised when Pippa and her husband, James Matthews, were not present at the annual Christmas carol concert attended by Princess Kate, only to be seen in Abu Dhabi two days later.
The couple, Pippa aged 42 and James aged 50, were captured on camera at the F1 Grand Prix event. A moment of awkwardness arose when a reporter, Ted Kravitz from Sky Sports, approached them without recognizing Pippa.
Kravitz mistook James for a member of the Williams F1 team and approached them to inquire about their thoughts on the race’s frontrunners. Despite acknowledging the reporter with a nod, James and Pippa walked away without providing a response.
While Pippa missed Kate’s Christmas event, the Princess received support from her family, including Michael and Carole Middleton, James Matthews, and his wife, Alizée Thevenet. Prince William, along with their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, were also in attendance, alongside other members of the royal family like Zara and Mike Tindall, Sophie the Duchess of Edinburgh, Lord and Lady Frederick Windsor, and Prince Michael of Kent.
Pippa and her husband James, who holds the Scottish feudal title of Laird of Glen Affric, got married in May 2017 and have three children together.
Royal expert Jennie Bond shared insights on the close relationship between Kate and Pippa, highlighting their casual and open communication. Bond also noted that the similarities in their lifestyles and living arrangements have contributed to their balanced relationship.
Despite the public attention Pippa garnered as Kate’s bridesmaid, she has managed to stay grounded and is regarded as a delightful individual.
